Is Your Social Media Curious Enough to Succeed?

Social Pros Podcast: (Podcast 3)
Is Your Social Media Curious Enough to Succeed? (Aired Nov. 7, 2019)

What I learned today from this episode.

Social Media is all about the content you're promoting... you have to be really "nimble on how we adapt our content" in social media.
The social "success path" is entirely circumstantial, because brands are different and social media is brand driven.   There is not one way to promote your social media.  What you need is to have partners where you can have open and honest conversations who simply want to get it right.  Having a genuine desire to figure out how to make your social media work for you.  Three things you need to do: A) allocate spending, B) allocate time and C) and cannot say "give me expected levels of performance.  This is because people have the "mentality" that they want to see something that they have never seen before, something innovating.

Something interesting that they host mentions is that one of the challenges with social is the annual budget cycle because things tend to change very quick, very fast... new platforms are always popping up and one year living at that speed is a very long time to try to catch up.

Lastly my final thoughts... I'm not so sure what the whole point of this episode was.  It seemed like it was all over the place and not focused on one thing... at least from what I thought the main idea of the episode was by the title it was given.  Hopefully these notes make some sort of sense.

10 Ways to Repurpose ONE Single Piece of Content.

Online Marketing Made Easy Podcast: (Podcast 2)
10 Ways to Repurpose ONE Single Piece of Content.

What I Learned Today From This Episode.

1- Repurposing your content should become part of your content creation process - so your ideal audience can consume it in a variety of ways.

2- The Steps:
-1. Create an Original/Primary Piece of Content. (not it is not possible or a good idea for you alone to take this task... it'll take you away from your main focus, which is creating your primary piece.
-2. Transcribe your original content.  In this episode Amy Porterfield, gives us an example of her Podcast, the original piece of her podcast is audio recording and by having a transcribed piece this allows her audience to read it instead.  Some people prefer reading.  (In news media broadcast this makes me think of web scripts.  In news, as a reporter, after your story is aired, it is one's responsibility to publish your transcript so people can have access to it, print it, highlight it... and take the best part of it.)

-3.  Show Notes... I'm assuming she's referring to specific notes about your original content and make format them for your audience so they can have a simpler understanding of your content.  Think of it as giving a tease of information about your original content.

-4. Take some snippets, tease info and use e-mail.  E-mail subscribers give them a tease of your content.  This will spread your content and attract more people to it.

-5.  Pull two paragraphs, stats, or something interesting about your transcript and create a graph of stats or something visual.

-6. Make a social media post of your snippets.

-7. Turn your audio clip into a video highlight (pick an interesting soundbite of your original content 15-20 sec SOT and turn it into a video highlight.) In newsmedia broadcast we call this a bump/tease SOT (sound on tape)

-8. Take the content you created and format it into an article... (this makes me think of a web script.) Have your article reviewed.

-9.  Make a freebie ... this sounds like a tease for your podcast.

-10. Use part of your content as a FAQ.

The Power of Social Media for Professional Services.

Social Pros Podcast: (Podcast 1)
The Power of Social Media for Professional Services.  (Aired Oct. 24, 2019)

What I learned today by listening to this episode of Social Pros:
1- Understanding the personalties of social media (I think this becomes a true challenge for anyone who is in a generation gap.  Meaning Gen Xers and Baby Boomers and even some Millennials who are trying to compete younger generations.)  And embracing this technology to expand their business or brands on a local to global scale.

2- How to benefit from social media by turning it into revenue.  Also the impact of social media, it has allowed to create global relationships (market)

3- Communication techniques (the guest speaker talks about his book and the 19 chapters in his book that talk about communication techniques/the power of communication, therefore it is extremely important to keep that in mind.)
          - Show your human side.
          - Be transparent.
          - Create and share content your passionate about/memorable experiences.

4-  Capture your audience immediately, then move on to your formal introduction.  (As a news broadcast major, this makes me think of the strategies we use as reporters/producers.  We tend to think of two important things when telling a story and creating a show 1- Hook your audience by 2- WIIFM=What's In It For Me as an audience/why would/should I watch this if this is not relevant to me)

DIA DE MUERTOS 2019

It has become a tradition in the Sanchez-Westenskow household to celebrate Dia de Muertos.  This was our second year celebrating this wonderful holiday.  We commemorate our loved ones by remembering them and sharing their stories.  We now look forward to every autumn and November to be reunited with those who have crossed the other side of the veil.
